Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 23 April 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the BLD Academy website at bld.academy and any course, workshop, certification programme, accelerator or service offered by BLD Academy (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By registering for a programme or using the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
BLD Academy is a KHDA-approved training provider based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable federal laws of the UAE.
2. Registration and eligibility
- You must provide accurate, current and complete information when registering for a programme or submitting an enquiry.
- Children under 18 must be registered by a parent, guardian or responsible adult, who accepts these Terms on the child’s behalf.
- Some certification pathways have eligibility criteria (e.g. existing qualifications, experience, visa/residency status). We will confirm eligibility before you complete payment.
- We reserve the right to refuse a registration or remove a participant where we reasonably believe behaviour, safety, or eligibility requires it.
3. Fees and payment
- Fees are stated in UAE Dirhams (AED) and, unless stated otherwise, are inclusive of applicable VAT.
- Your place on a course is only confirmed once payment has been received in cleared funds or a written confirmation has been issued by BLD Academy.
- We may change our published fees from time to time. Any change applies to new registrations only and does not affect programmes you have already paid for.
4. Cancellation, rescheduling and refunds
We understand that plans change. Our current policy is as follows (please confirm specifics for your programme in the booking confirmation, which prevails over this summary):
- Cancellation by you, more than 14 days before the start date — full refund of the course fee, less any non-refundable third-party costs incurred.
- Cancellation by you, 7 to 14 days before the start date — 50% refund, or 100% transfer to a future intake within 6 months.
- Cancellation by you, fewer than 7 days before the start date — no refund; subject to our discretion, we may offer a transfer to a future intake.
- Rescheduling by you — one free reschedule per booking, subject to availability, if requested at least 7 days before the start date.
- Cancellation by us — if we have to cancel or reschedule a course for any reason, we will offer you either a full refund or a transfer to a future intake of your choice.
Refunds are processed to the original payment method and typically arrive within 14 working days of approval.
5. Participation, safety and conduct
- You must follow the safety instructions of our trainers at all times. Our workshops involve tools and materials that can cause injury if misused.
- Appropriate clothing and closed-toe footwear are required for practical sessions. We provide PPE where needed.
- Children must be supervised by the accompanying adult who registered them. The adult remains responsible for the child at all times.
- We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour creates a safety risk or disrupts the session, without refund.
6. Certification
- Certificates issued by BLD Academy confirm that you have successfully completed the programme or assessment specified. They are not a substitute for any trade licence required by UAE law.
- Where a programme is jointly assessed or accredited with a third party, the terms of that third party also apply.
- Certificates may be reissued in the event of loss, subject to identity verification and a reasonable administrative fee.
- We may revoke a certificate where it is later found to have been issued on the basis of false or misleading information.
7. Employer Programme — 90-day performance support
Where BLD Academy places a certified candidate with an employer through our Employer Programme, we offer a 90-day performance support period from the candidate’s start date. If the employer, acting reasonably and having followed appropriate onboarding and management practice, determines within the first 90 days that the candidate is not performing to the standards indicated in their certification, we will work with the employer to either:
- Provide additional targeted training to the candidate at no extra charge; or
- Source a suitable replacement candidate at no additional placement fee.
The programme is not an employment insurance or guarantee of ongoing employment. It does not cover terminations for reasons unrelated to certified competencies (e.g. redundancy, commercial changes, visa issues). Full terms of the Employer Programme are provided in the Employer Programme agreement, which prevails over this summary.
8. Intellectual property
- All course materials, workbooks, videos, assessments, curricula, logos and trade marks used by BLD Academy are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
- You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use course materials for your own learning. You may not copy, distribute, publish, sell, or create derivative works from our materials without our written permission.
- You retain ownership of any project you build during a workshop using materials we supply.
9. Photography, video and testimonials
We may record photographs or video during our workshops and events for marketing and educational purposes. Where we intend to use recognisable images of participants (or minors), we will seek consent in writing in advance. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, and we will remove the material from our active channels (noting that content already published to third-party platforms may take longer to remove).
10. Website use
- You may not use our website in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or infringes the rights of others.
- We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the website at any time without notice.
- Our website may link to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BLD Academy’s total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms or any programme is limited to the amount you have paid to us for the relevant programme. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability which cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Privacy
Our collection and use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one in force on the date we confirm your registration.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the applicable federal laws of the UAE. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) or the Dubai Courts, as appropriate. We will always try to resolve any issue informally in the first instance — please contact us as set out below.
